Nicole

Counsellor

With a background in Human Resources and a Masters in Organisational Psychology, I dedicated two decades to guiding individuals towards their personal and professional goals. My expertise included helping them identify their motivations and aligning training opportunities with their interests and values.

However, a life-changing event occurred when my son was diagnosed with severe hearing loss. This personal experience led me to embark on a new journey, becoming a counsellor, with a special interest in assisting parents of children with additional needs.. In 2018, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology.

Since then, I've been working primarily with clients navigating critical life transitions, feeling stuck, or overwhelmed. My approach is always person-centred, tailored to each client's unique challenges, encompassing mental health, physical disabilities, grief, trauma, and addiction. I have a particular passion for supporting parents dealing with the complexities of raising children with disabilities or illnesses.

I am a registered counsellor with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia), and I remain committed to continuous learning. In May 2023, I completed my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, further deepening my professional and personal knowledge.

Counsellor

My practice is shaped from my belief that no one is inherently ‘broken’ or in need of ‘fixing’. Within us all are simply greater depths to be met, accepted, and responded to. I believe we are all beautifully unique and sometimes we simply need a safe, supportive, and curious space to remind us of this, where we can explore, inquire, and unpack our rich experiences and inner landscape.

My role is to provide that space for you and to gently guide you on your journey towards self-discovery, growth, and change.

Cultivating connection and a human-to-human relationship forms the foundation of counselling session with me. I work from a person-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-focused, and holistic lens. I incorporate evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based interventions into my sessions.

We are all so unique and multifaceted, and sessions with me are collaborative and individually tailored to you – there is never a one size fits all approach.

It is a privilege to walk alongside others in this work as we journey towards greater self-acceptance, self-compassion, self-connection, and overall wellbeing, whatever that looks like for you.
