At Changing Tide Wellness & Support Services, our home is right here on the South Coast, NSW, where community means everything to us. We're not just an organisation; we're a group of people committed to making life healthier and happier for everyone.

Our dream? To see every person in Australia living a fulfilled, joyful life, no matter where they come from or what they've been through.

So, how do we make this dream real?

We're all about giving the people in our community the tools they need to thrive. That means we're here to share knowledge, skills, and a whole lot of support. Our goal is to help each person take charge of their wellbeing and build a life that's full of health and happiness.

Our Story.

In 2018, our Sydney-based story took a turn toward the serenity of the South Coast, lured by the sea's healing powers. James and I, along with our young family, aimed for a life surrounded by the waves and coastal breeze of Jervis Bay.

Immersing ourselves in the local community, we found purpose in providing Mental health and Disability support services to our community members. Our separate journeys in counseling and support services took flight, but a beautiful realisation dawned on us: together, we could achieve more. And so, in 2021, the amalgamation of Kat's Counseling Practice and James's Support Services business gave birth to Changing Tide Wellness & Support Services.

Starting small, we quickly understood that to truly make waves of change, we needed to grow. With this realisation, Changing Tide embarked on an expansion. More hands joined our cause, more projects blossomed, and the transition to a Not-for-profit model widened our scope for impact.

Today, as we continue to navigate this remarkable journey, our commitment remains steadfast. Our shared values of empowerment, ethical practice, and community-driven growth steer our ship. We're not just here to ride the tides; we're here to be the change along these ever-shifting shores, weaving support and wellness into the fabric of our community's story.

Our Values

  • People are our focus. Happy and healthy individuals support the creation of a happy and healthy community. We will keep the needs of the people in our community as the focus of everything we do.

  • You will always know what you are getting, no small print. We don't just follow the rules, we make the person the priority. We will keep communication honest and upfront and welcome the same from you.

  • Us and you. Identifying needs, gaps, and opportunities for reaching new milestones and building the road map together to get there. We will grow our business in line with what you want to learn and practice.

  • We want you to be you. One of a kind.

We will recognise and embrace the parts of you that make you extraordinary and we will do the same in our organisation, the services we offer and how we offer them.

Meet the Corporate Team.

At Changing Tide, my focus revolves around driving operational excellence. I'm the person behind the scenes ensuring that everything runs smoothly, from logistics to planning. Embracing innovation and adaptability, I'm always seeking ways to improve our operations and enhance our impact within our local community.

Beginning my journey in the Disability Sector, I've navigated various roles, from Support Worker to Program Coordinator, ultimately securing a role as a Service Manager. These experiences have equipped me with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of this sector. My passion for mental wellbeing led me to transition into the Mental Health domain, and backed by a Bachelor's Degree in Counselling and a Masters in Mental Health I have successfully provided counselling services for a range of mental health needs.

In addition to my role at Changing Tide Wellness & Support Services, I operate Live.Work.Well., specialising in comprehensive wellbeing mentoring and educational services catering to both personal and professional needs. Should you seek a wellbeing mentor or require a wellbeing consultant for your workplace, I invite you to explore the range of services I offer. Feel free to visit Live.Work.Well. for further information and to explore how I can support your wellbeing objectives.

Kat Munson

Operations Manager

As a Service Manager, I thrive in coordinating services that meet unique individual needs. Managing staff and resources is where I step in, ensuring a smooth and supportive environment for both clients and our dedicated team.

With over 8 years in Disability and Mental Health organisations, I realised the need for a more personal touch in supporting others. That's why I embarked on a mission to provide truly tailored services, drawing from both personal experiences and the feedback of those I've assisted along the way. I focus on activities that take us into the community and teach practical life skills at home and my passion lies in empowering individuals and fostering growth that matters.

I truly enjoy making connections and using my friendly and open personality to create positive relationships. Whether it's lightening the mood with a joke or creating a calming, supportive space, building trust and understanding is what I do best.

James Munson

Service Manager

I have worked with small businesses of various shapes and sizes over the years, giving me a real insight into what it takes to be successful, and having now lived in the Shoalhaven area for 10 years, I recognise the value small businesses bring to a community like ours.

I am passionate about supporting small businesses and individuals to achieve their financial goals but on a more personal level, I am passionate about sustainability and inclusivity. I aim to reduce my impact on the environment as much as possible and through my business Magic Numbers, I also partner with ecologi to plant trees and purchase carbon offsets each month.

I am active in my local community by volunteering for a couple of local non-profit organisations (as Treasurer, naturally), and running dance classes for people with disabilities through Beyond Dance.
